In an effort to highlight our new Mandatory Community Service Hours initiative at East Aurora High School and to support our incoming Freshman Class of 2013, which is the first class that this initiative will impact, District 131 is partnering with local faith-based institutions to host the 2009 Community-Service Kick-Off Event.
The event will allow our students to impact the world by volunteering for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) and packing food that will help the lives of millions of people!
These meals will be delivered to schools, clinics, orphanages, refugee camps and used in feeding programs.
We are a seeking 500 students volunteers and adult supervisors for the event, which will be held on Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18 at East Aurora High School. Class of 2013 students (those entering their freshman year in high school) will have the first priority in selecting shifts and will be given the opportunity to earn 10 hour graduation requirement if they volunteer for multiple shifts.
Adult Supervisors will be needed throughout the event as well! Please review the information on the site and register to volunteer for one or as many shifts as you can!
