The 19th annual East Aurora Summer Band Camp began today and will be held daily until Friday, June 29 at the historic LaSalle Manor in Plano, IL.
Over 100 elementary and middle school students will be trained in the art of music and marching by a certified band instructor with assistance from current high school band students and college students who were former members of the band at East Aurora High School.
The week will conclude with a family picnic and free public concert on Friday, June 29 at 4:00 p.m. at LaSalle Manor. Guests are invited to attend and bring their own picnic meal and lawn chairs for an afternoon of musical enjoyment.
The Summer Band Camp Band will also be marching in the annual Aurora Independence Day Parade sponsored by the City of Aurora and Roosevelt-Aurora American Legion Post 84 on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. The parade steps off at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4 at the corner of Benton and River streets, marches east to Broadway Avenue, north to Galena Boulevard and concludes heading west to Hoyt Place.
LaSalle Manor is located at Galena Road in Plano, 3 miles west of Rt. 47.
