East Aurora School District 131 announces the appointment of Ms. Marina Kosak as principal of East Aurora High School for the 2017-18 school year. The appointment was approved by the Board of Education at its meeting on March 6.
“In removing the “interim” from her title, we recognize Ms. Kosak’s strong leadership both at East High and within our administrative team,” said Dr. Mark McDonald. “In her time as interim principal, Ms. Kosak has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to building a positive school culture, caring about students and promoting academic success.”
Ms. Kosak began her career as an educator in 1995, teaching Spanish at Hinsdale Central High School for 10 years. She served five years as Dean at Plainfield North High School, and two years as Assistant Principal at A. Vito Martinez Middle School.
In 2013 Ms. Kosak came to District 131, serving three years as assistant principal of student services at East Aurora High School. In 2016 she was appointed interim principal at East High.
Ms. Kosak received her Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Spanish and Political Science from Purdue University, a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from Purdue, and a Master of Arts degree in Teacher Leadership from Roosevelt University. Ms. Kosak holds a Type 75 Administrative License from North Central College.
