Mechelle feels privileged to serve as principal of Simmons Middle School. She began serving East Aurora School district over a decade ago. During her tenure in the district, she has worked as Assistant Principal, Emotional Disturbance Coordinator and Behavior Specialist. She has experience at all three levels of elementary and secondary education.
Mechelle received a Bachelor’s degree from Grambling State University and a Master’s degree from Louisiana State University. She is happily married and has one son. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, music, theater and traveling.
Her primary goal as principal is to help every child realize his/her full academic potential. She strives to help children develop social responsibility. She encourages and supports each child to develop their talents so that they may become responsible citizens of the community. Mechelle remains steadfast in her efforts to promote Academic Excellence and a Socially Responsible teaching community for all students and invites parent and community participation and involvement.
