Kenneth Darby is a lifelong East Aurora District 131 resident and a proud graduate of East Aurora High School, class of 1980. Mr. Darby is Master Tradesman with Forest Preserve District of Kane County.

After graduation, Darby worked at the Aurora Police Department for two years while attending Waubonsee Community College. Darby earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University. Darby has three children: the first is a graduate of East Aurora High School, the second is a son graduated in 2015, and the third graduated from East Aurora in 2017.

Darby started his career in the construction industry and held the positions of foreman and supervisor at McKee Door Sales & Service.  Darby has 28 years of construction experience and has been an employee of the Kane County Forest Preserve for the past seven years.

Darby served as the 2014-15 East Aurora Band Booster President. He also served as President of a Lake Association Board for the past seven years. He also volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America and various District and school events. Darby was co-owner of a martial arts school focusing on teaching children self-discipline through martial arts.

Darby will be an advocate for the taxpayers, staff, and students of the District, listening to their questions and concerns, and working toward the best outcome for all.
