Special Education
Special education services assure that District 131 students who meet the federal and state guidelines for special education eligibility between the ages of 3 to 21, receive services that are stipulated on their student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
District 131 offers a comprehensive continuum of services for special education students, as well as extended-school-year services for those students who qualify.
Request an Evaluation
If you would like to request an evaluation of your student for your special education services, please review the following link from ISBE about the referral and evaluation process.
Within 14 school days after receiving a request for evaluation, the district will decide whether to evaluate the child or not. If the district determines an evaluation is warranted, then the district must provide the parents with the paperwork to provide formal written consent.
