College and Career Readiness

Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in Illinois provide instruction for careers in high-wage, high-skill, and in-demand occupations. CTE programs continue to strengthen students’ technical skills; articulate transitions to postsecondary programs, employment or both; assist in meeting the Illinois Learning Standards; and close achievement gaps.

The College and Career Readiness frameworks for District 131 outline the key experiences and learning goals for students in both middle school and high school. These documents provide a grade-by-grade roadmap of what students should know and experience each year as they explore their interests and plan for their future.

These frameworks guide the efforts of our schools and counseling teams to support students in identifying potential college and career paths.

If you have questions about your student’s experiences or progress, please contact your student’s school counselor. For questions about the overall program, contact the East Aurora Director of College and Career Readiness.

Perkins Grant & CTE Impact

District 131 utilizes Perkins Grant funding to strengthen Career and Technical Education (CTE) for our students. This grant supports collaboration between our secondary schools, postsecondary institutions, and local business partners to ensure students are career-ready.
