District 131 offers East Aurora families a Student Acceleration process, which includes early admittance to Kindergarten and first grade, single subject (Reading and Math) acceleration, and whole grade.

The East Aurora School District 131 Accelerated Placement Timeline for the 2026-2027 School Year is: 

April 1 to May 4, 2026: Applications will be accepted.

Through May 28, 2026: Data evaluation/analysis by district administration.

May 29, 2026: Deadline for parent notification of acceptance status.

June 12, 2026: Confirmation of parental acceptance.

Eligibility criteria for acceleration includes:

• Student academic and cognitive performance
• Student Personal Development
• Student social maturity

To successfully complete the application process, the following guidelines must be met:

  1. Registration: Parents/guardians of all incoming District 131 students will be required to have proof of residency and are required to complete the registration process for the 2026-27 school year before applying for acceleration. 
  2. Parental authorization is required for District 131 to evaluate and administer evaluations to determine appropriate educational placement.
  3. The application process will require reviewing previous academic and personal development information. If applicable, a release of information form must be completed.
  4. The parent/guardian will need to complete the application for accelerated placement. Parents can access the form here.
