Mission and Vision

World Language Program Overview
At East Aurora High School, our World Language program is designed to ignite curiosity about other cultures, encourage critical thinking, and develop strong biliteracy skills. From grades 9 through 12, students actively engage in the four key language domains—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—through interactive lessons, collaborative projects, and real-world applications.
Our curriculum emphasizes not only the ability to communicate effectively in a second language, both informally and academically, but also a deep respect for the cultures where the language is spoken. Whether enrolled in heritage or traditional language courses, students are introduced to comprehensible input strategies that support language development and lead to confident, effective communication.
By the time they reach Advanced Placement (AP) courses, students have built a strong foundation in biliteracy and cultural understanding, preparing them for success in college, careers, and global citizenship.

College Credit
East High offers language courses from Level 1 through Advanced Placement (AP). The AAPPL and AP exams can earn you college credit in a world language!
