Advise and Sign, the process through which students select courses for the following school year, kicks off the week of January 30 for the Class of 2024. The Classes of 2025 and 2026 will participate in Advise and Sign during the two weeks that follow. The Class of 2027 spoke to EAHS counselors at their respective middle schools and selected courses the first week of January. 

Counselors will meet with students in the Field House for Advise and Sign over the next three weeks. Students will be called in with their Physical Education. Band. Naval Science, Health, or Driver’s Education classes to select next year’s courses. Advise and Sign forms were passed out during student English classes on January 27. Students are expected to discuss their course selections with their parents and teachers and come to their meeting with a completed form. Blank forms will be available on site as needed. In the Advise and Sign meeting with their counselor, the form will serve as the basis of a conversation to determine the best selection of courses for each individual student. Course requests will be entered into the system at that time. Course section can be greatly informed by information available in the EAHS Course Catalog. The Course Catalog, blank Advise and Sign forms, and other relevant information can be found on the East High website. 

Any student that needs to meet with their counselor during these three weeks about issues beyond course selection for the 2023/2024  school year can stop by the fieldhouse during their Lunch or email their counselor with questions or to set up an available time. Social Workers will be readily available throughout Advise and Sign, as will District Graduation Coaches, depending on student needs.
