Hour of CodeHour of Code

Students in all grades celebrated Computer Science Education Week by taking part in this year’s world-wide movement called, “Hour of Code”.  Second grade students worked either independently or with partners to help BB-8, R2D2, and C3PO from Star Wars to collect scraps, get Rebel Pilots and/or Storm Troopers.  5th grader students created their own cartoon dance parties by coding computer commands.  Visit the dance party site here: https://code.org/

The Hour of Code began as a one-hour coding challenge to give students a fun first introduction to computer science and has become a global learning event, celebration, and awareness event.  For more information on Hour of Code, please visit the organization’s website: https://hourofcode.com/us
