Tomcats use October to optimize their college search

Tomcats use October to optimize their college search

With Rolling Admission in full swing and Early and Priority Admission deadlines quickly approaching in November, October is a busy month when it comes to East Aurora students' college search. EAHS counselors are actively holding individual appointments with seniors to discuss their post-secondary plans. SchooLinks continues to be the primary online resource the District makes available to all students to explore college and career opportunities.

College representatives are visiting campus on a daily basis, posting up in the Tomcat College and Career Center (CCC) or in the Atrium where seniors eat their lunch. The CCC is available to all students during lunch periods and is always staffed by a member of the counseling department or the Graduation Coach team. Additionally the EAHS Counseling team is coordinating a number of field trips to colleges and universities across the state of Illinois.

A major feature of EAHS' Fall post-secondary programming is the annual College Fair. In the Fieldhouse on October 14, from 12:00PM-1:30PM (3rd Block/Periods 5/6) representatives from over 50 different colleges and universities will be promoting their institution directly and exclusively to East Aurora students. Students will be able to come during their lunch period if it aligns, may come down with their class, or can reach out to their counselor or anyone staffing the CCC to receive a pass. All students need to register through Strive Scan in order to maximize their College Fair experience.
