Krug Students Visit Joliet Junior College's Planetarium
On Monday, March 16th Krug 5th graders braved the snowy weather and had the opportunity to visit the Herbert Trackman Planetarium and Cronin School at Joliet Junior College. The planetarium visit was led by Caitlin Lee of JJC, and she took them to the Moon and out further to view our entire galaxy!
They had lunch in the campus cafeteria before going to the Cronin School. The one-room schoolhouse was built in 1863, on the Cronin farm in Shorewood, IL. It provided education for students from grades 1-8. Students got to view life in a classroom around the turn of the century, comparing and contrasting it to their present-day learning environment. Thanks to Mrs. Frer and Ms. Perez for organizing the fieldtrip.
