Students from grades 2 and 3 at Oak Park Elementary joined several other district schools the week of December 4 for “Hour of Code,” a global movement introducing students to computer science.
District 131’s instructional technology team helped provide helpful resources to schools, complete with how-to guides and student-guided tutorials. Students got to choose from fun coding activities that fit every age, including Star Wars, Disney’s Frozen, Angry Birds, and Apple’s Swift Playgrounds. Hour of Code was designed to inspire kids to learn more, break stereotypes, and leave them feeling empowered. Tigers, you did awesome! Keep coding!
