parent academyEast Aurora School District 131 will host a Parent Academy, featuring six resource courses for parents, caregivers and community members.

Parent Academy will take place Tuesdays, February 6 through March 13, from 6 – 7:15 p.m. at East Aurora High School, 500 Tomcat Lane, Aurora.

Participants choose one of the five six-week courses to attend, including Technology, Financial Wellness, Prepping and Planning for Post-Secondary Options, Parenting 101, or ESL Conversational English.

Each six-week course is free with no fees to participate. Participants attending five of the six sessions will receive a completion certificate. Each course is limited to 20 participants, and childcare will be provided.

The Parent Academy promotes parental involvement and the enhancement of student achievement. Classes within the Parent Academy will promote student achievement, parenting, advocacy, personal and individual growth.

The Parent Academy is funded from Federal and State 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant funds. Additional funds were used from Title I.
