What We’re Learning

PRE-K: community; we are all part of a community; a
community is a place where we live, play, and grow

KINDER: retelling/sequencing to show change over time
(literacy); numbers 6-10; writing, comparing and counting
(math)

1st: ask and answer questions (literacy); finding the
missing number in addition and subtraction (math)

2nd: problem and solution; central message and theme
(literacy); reading, creating, and comparing bar graphs
and pictographs (math)

3rd: theme and central message; traditional literature
(literacy); addition and subtraction within 1,000 (math)

4th: reading informational text about skeletons and main
idea; creating infographics about an animal (literacy);
adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers (math)

5th: researching ecosystems and writing a research
essay (literacy); power of 10 in whole numbers and
decimals; reading and writing decimals (math)

we enter the holiday season.

● What is your favorite thing to eat for
Thanksgiving (if your family celebrates)?

Reminders

Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather, with warm coats, hats, and gloves. Students spend 30 minutes outside playing for recess when the weather is 30 degrees or above.

Our Oak Park 3rd graders will be participating with a musical performance at Las Posadas on Saturday, December 3rd, this year! We invite you to join us for this fun-filled, family event and to support our Oak Park students!

You can support our school by download the Box Tops app, selecting Oak Park Elementary in Aurora, and scanning your receipt. Those points add up and our school can purchase much-needed resources.

Recordatorios

Aseguren que su hijo/a este vestido apropiadamente para el clima con una chaqueta abrigada, gorro, y
guantes. Los estudiantes están jugando afuera por 30 minutos durante el recreo si las temperaturas son más
de 30 grados.

Nuestros estudiantes de 3er grado estarán participando con un acto musical para Las Posadas este año el
sábado, 3 de diciembre. Toda la familia está invitada a apoyar a los estudiantes en este evento divertido..
