  • Our first December student of the month is Stephanie Rivas. Steph is motivated to get her work done. In fact, I adjusted our week to include more time to read independently, because Stephanie clearly enjoyed it. She is a student leader not because she loves to read, but because she is reliable and conscientious. She is always helping others and I know too; her amiable nature is appreciated by many.
  • Our second student of the month is Taoheed Adeoye. This student has a quiet strength that has allowed him to persevere in a new place. He has dignity and displays a genuine kindness towards his fellow students and teachers. He represents someone we can all look up to. He is self-reliant and always gives his best effort in every task he is given. Behind the shy young man that we see in our school community is an individual with dignity, strength, and great character.
  • Anthony is an extremely competitive and self-driven student. He is a kind and respectful individual who is often found helping others in class. He understands the value of education and the hard work it takes to be successful. He's a true leader and is someone his classmates and teachers can go to in need of help. He strives for perfection in everything he does in class and gets it. His teachers know the value he brings to our class, our team, and our school, and that is why he is our Student of the Month. Congratulations Anthony!
  • Yulissa's word is courteous. This is the perfect word to describe Yulissa as she is a scholar who is respectful, charitable, and kind. Yulissa is kind and compassionate toward everyone she meets. Yulissa embodies courteousness because she is a scholar who never has a negative thing to say, stays late to help out, and is always willing to take on any task she is given. Yulissa is altruistic, always giving of herself and her time- never asking for anything in return. Yulissa is a self-less young woman who has proven herself a great student leader. Congrats Yulissa!
  • Our final student of the month is Isabel Nino. Isabel embodies kindness and friendliness. She always has a smile on her face and greets both students and teachers cheerfully. She always tries her best in class and is willing to help others. Each day, she goes out of her way to say 'hello' and always greets her friends and teachers with a big smile. She is student of the month for her positive outlook and compassion towards others.

This month Simmons Middle School’s Team 7B chose five students to be recognized and celebrated for great character; being motivated and conscientious, genuine and self-reliant, courteous and altruistic, competitive and focused, kind and compassionate.

Teachers nominate students on our team that demonstrate such characteristics, and at the end of the month, teachers choose five students that stand out the most.

Students selected for Students of the Month are announced over the P.A. each day along with why they were chosen. At the end of the week students are celebrated at a luncheon with their teachers, counselor and our administration.

Here are the students being celebrated for the month of November.
