Game Dates: 09/12/2022 – 04/14/2023

Trades MUST be executed by April 7, 2023, or your account will be deleted.

Portfolio Rules:

1. The MINIMUM STOCKS rule:

Teams must buy a minimum of four (4) different stocks. Students do not need to hold those stocks any specific amount of time. They can sell stocks when and if they determine the investment is not meeting their goals.

The SMG portfolio system does not monitor this 4-stock requirement (no error message is sent the team.) This check will be done at the end of the session by SMG staff.

2. The MAXIMUM EQUITY Rule:

Teams may invest no more than 30% of their total equity in any one company.

Teachers wanting to utilize an info sheet on calculating the Maximum Equity should go to Maximum Equity Rule

The SMG portfolio system will not allow grades 4-12 and teacher teams to go beyond the 30% maximum equity.

The system will not allow you to buy stocks priced at LESS THAN $5 per share.
