Board of Education members take oathLos miembros de la Junta de Educación de East Aurora prestan juramento

At the May 3 meeting of the East Aurora School District 131 Board of Education, two incumbent board members were sworn in, and a new member was appointed to the board. The board president, vice-president and secretary were also elected.

Three 4-year seats on the board were up for election last month. Incumbents Dan Barreiro and Annette Johnson were re-elected. 

The board also approved the appointment of Mr. Bruce Schubert to the board for a term of two years. The appointment follows a board vacancy as of April 6, 2021. After Mr. Schubert’s oath of office, the board elected new leadership positions.

Ms. Annette Johnson was elected board president, Mr. Dan Barreiro was elected vice-president, and Ms. Kimberly Hatchett was elected secretary of the board.

Board President Johnson appointed board members to three board sub-committees:

Kim Hatchett (chair), Juan Sifuentes, Jr., and Avis Miller will serve on the Curriculum Committee, with Annette Johnson serving as an alternate.

Dan Barreiro, (chair), Annette Johnson, and Alex Arroyo will serve on the Finance Committee, with Juan Sifuentes serving as an alternate.

Bruce Schubert (chair), Dan Barreiro, and Annette Johnson will serve on the Buildings & Grounds Committee, with Alex Arroyo serving as an alternate.

The next meeting of the East Aurora School District 131 Board of Education is scheduled for May 17.

En la reunión del 3 de mayo de la Junta de Educación del Distrito Escolar 131 del Este de Aurora, dos miembros titulares de la junta prestaron juramento y se nombró un nuevo miembro a la junta. También fueron elegidos el presidente de la junta, el vicepresidente y el secretario.

Tres puestos de 4 años en la junta fueron elegidos el mes pasado. Los titulares Dan Barreiro y Annette Johnson fueron reelegidos.

El directorio también aprobó el nombramiento del Sr. Bruce Schubert como miembro del directorio por un período de dos años. El nombramiento sigue a una vacante de la junta directiva a partir del 6 de abril de 2021. Después del juramento al cargo del Sr. Schubert, la junta eligió nuevos puestos de liderazgo.

La Sra. Annette Johnson fue elegida presidenta de la junta, el Sr. Dan Barreiro fue elegido vicepresidente y la Sra. Kimberly Hatchett fue elegida secretaria de la junta.

El presidente de la junta, Johnson, nombró a miembros de la junta para tres subcomités de la junta:

Kim Hatchett (presidenta), Juan Sifuentes, Jr. y Avis Miller formarán parte del Comité de Currículo, con Annette Johnson como suplente.

Dan Barreiro (presidente), Annette Johnson y Alex Arroyo formarán parte del Comité de Finanzas, con Juan Sifuentes como suplente.

Bruce Schubert (presidente), Dan Barreiro y Annette Johnson servirán en el Comité de Edificios y Terrenos, con Alex Arroyo como suplente.

La próxima reunión de la Junta de Educación del Distrito Escolar 131 del Este de Aurora está programada para el 17 de mayo.
