November 15 will mark the official statewide observance of School Board Members Day in Illinois. The honorary day is an opportunity for our district and the community to recognize the East Aurora School District 131 Board of Education, and their commitment to providing a local voice for East Aurora’s educational vision.

Our school board members give up personal time and family time because they understand the importance of local governance in our educational system. They bring their passion, experience, and wisdom to help guide our district. They sacrifice a great deal to ensure students on the east side of Aurora have access to a high quality education system, one that prepares them for college or career, and allows them to reach their full potential.

School Board Members Day is a time to reflect on our school board’s important role in creating lasting educational opportunities that meet local needs and offer a pathway to a successful future for each and every child. It’s an opportunity to honor school board members who serve as unpaid volunteers for the benefit of the students and community residents, while also acting as front-line education advocates providing a local voice and vision for our district.

El 15 de noviembre va a marcar la observancia estatal oficial del día de los miembros de la junta escolar. Este día honorario es una oportunidad para que nuestro distrito y comunidad reconozca la junta escolar del Distrito Escolar de East Aurora 131, y su compromiso a crear una voz local para la visión educativa de East Aurora.

Los miembros de la junta escolar renuncian su tiempo personal y familiar porque entienden la importancia del gobierno local en nuestro sistema educativo. Ellos aportan su pasión, experiencia y sabiduría para ayudar a guiar nuestro distrito. Sacrifican mucho para garantizar que los estudiantes del lado este de Aurora tengan acceso a un sistema educativo de alta calidad, uno que los prepare para la universidad o una carrera y les permita alcanzar su máximo potencial.

El día de los miembros de la junta escolar es un tiempo para reflejar en la importancia de la junta escolar y como crea oportunidades educativas que duran, que satisfacen las necesidades locales, y que crean un camino para un futuro exitoso para cada estudiante. Es una oportunidad para honrar a los miembros de la junta que sirven como voluntarios sin pago para el beneficio de los estudiantes y residentes de la comunidad, mientras también actúan como defensores educativos que proveen una voz y visión local para nuestro distrito.
