East Aurora School District 131 participates in a district-wide comfort dog program designed to support the emotional well-being of students across all our school buildings. As part of this initiative, students receive a copy of the book Dixie Doodle, which features a lovable comfort dog as the main character.

On Friday, October 3rd, Benavides STEAM Academy had the special opportunity to host Dixie Doodle author Patsy Gallagher and her real-life dog inspiration, Dixie. During their visit, Ms. Gallagher read her interactive book to kindergarten students, engaging them with the heartwarming story and the book’s meaningful message. Meanwhile, Dixie made friendly rounds, visiting with students and bringing plenty of smiles and tail wags.

El Distrito Escolar 131 de East Aurora participa en un programa distrital de perros de consuelo, diseñado para apoyar el bienestar emocional de los estudiantes en todos nuestros planteles escolares. Como parte de esta iniciativa, los estudiantes reciben un ejemplar del libro Dixie Doodle, protagonizado por un adorable perro de consuelo.
El viernes 3 de octubre, la Academia STEAM Benavides tuvo la oportunidad especial de recibir a la autora de Dixie Doodle, Patsy Gallagher, y a su perro de inspiración, Dixie. Durante su visita, la Sra. Gallagher leyó su libro interactivo a los estudiantes de kínder, cautivándolos con la conmovedora historia y el significativo mensaje del libro. Mientras tanto, Dixie hizo rondas amistosas, visitando a los estudiantes y regalándoles muchas sonrisas y meneando la cola.
