EAHS Class of '23 Honors Night EAHS Class of '23 Honors Night

Applause rang through a packed auditorium as over 100 East Aurora graduating seniors and their families were recognized on the evening of March of 24 at the annual senior Honors Night. Every East High senior class receives scholarship awards totaling several millions of dollars from colleges, universities, and third-party scholarship organizations. Every year the outstanding accomplishments of East Aurora High School students are acknowledged through awards from innumerable local and national scholarship organizations. The annual graduating class Honors Night provides the opportunity for representatives from those organizations to publicly recognize the amazing Tomcat recipients of their various scholarships. While some awards are specifically endowed to East Aurora graduates, others see our Tomcats competing against some of the best students from across the region, or in some cases, across the country, for scholarship recognition. In addition to scholarship recognition, Honors Night accolades are awarded to students that have distinguished themselves in many different ways during their time at EAHS. Several different stoles and cords are awarded to students to be worn along with their caps and gowns at the graduation ceremony on June 4.  This year, among other honors, students were recognized for community service, academic excellence, having earned the Seal of Biliteracy, and for having participated in the Early College program. Nakita Stewart, who coordinated the program with fellow counselor Tracy Warwick, served as emcee for the spectacular event. In her closing remarks, Stewart acknowledged the efforts of faculty, administrators, and community partners in supporting and encouraging the impressive assembly of graduating Tomcats to pursue their post-secondary dreams. Stewart ended the event by asking all the parents in the audience to stand up and be recognized for everything they have done in support of their students and thanked them for trusting East Aurora educators with their precious children.
