East Aurora High School head varsity football coach Kurt Becker has resigned from his stipend coaching position he held at the high school.
A 1977 graduate of East High, Becker served as head football coach for six seasons, since 2012.
“East High is grateful to Coach Becker for his dedication to the football program and commitment to the Tomcats who played under his leadership,” said Ben Williams, athletic director at East High. “Kurt provided a structure that taught our student-athletes the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship—skills which will serve these young men for the rest of their lives.”
Administrators at East High will now conduct a search and interview process to fill the seasonal stipend position, with a goal to have a new head varsity coach in place as soon as possible.
