Environmental Science Students Making an ImpactEnvironmental Science Students Making an Impact

In November, AP Environmental Science students partnered with a research team in Boston and Nashville to conduct a 2-week project on the impacts of Urban Heat Islands and develop potential solutions to alleviate their impact on the EAHS campus.  They collected data using Bluetooth temperature sensors from various surfaces at EAHS including asphalt, turf, metal, and grass to see how albedo impacts solar radiation absorption.  They then worked in teams to develop solutions to improve the school campus and presented their findings.
