Fifth Graders Visit the Morton ArboretumLos estudiantes de quinto grado visitan Morton Arboretum

Fifth grade teachers, Mrs. Brianna Caputo and Mrs. Samantha Sweeney, recently received the Youth Science Education Outreach Grant through the Morton Arboretum. On Thursday, October 10th, students visited the arboretum. There, they participated in a botany lab where they dissected seeds and flowers to learn about the different parts of plants. They also took the Energizing Ecosystems Guided Field Experience. On this hike, students learned how ecosystems are fueled by the sun’s energy. Students were lucky to have such an amazing weather day for their trip! Check out some pictures from this educational experience.

Las maestras de quinto grado, la Sra. Brianna Caputo y la Sra. Samantha Sweeney, recibieron recientemente la subvención Youth Science Education Outreach a través de Morton Arboretum.  El jueves, 10 de octubre, los estudiantes visitaron el arboreto.  Allí participaron en un laboratorio de botánica en el cuál diseccionaron semillas y flores para aprender sobre las diferentes partes de las plantas.  También realizaron la Experiencia de Campo Guiada de Ecosistemas Energizantes.  En esta caminata, los estudiantes aprendieron cómo los ecosistemas se alimentan de la energía solar.  ¡Los estudiantes tuvieron suerte de tener un día con un clima increíble para su paseo!  Eche un vistazo a algunas fotografías de esta experiencia educativa.
