Krug Principal, Sheila Conrad, has been nominated for Kane County Educator of the Year. In honor of that nomination here are five questions with her!

What is your favorite thing about working at Krug? 

There are so many things that I love about working at Krug!  The students and staff make this a great place to work!  My favorite part of the day is first thing in the morning when all of our students are coming in the building and I see the excitement and anticipation of another great day of learning on their faces. 

What inspired you to work in education? 

I have wanted to work in education for as long as I can remember.  When I was little, I used to play school with my stuffed animals and try to get on the bus with my older sister when she went to Kindergarten.  I have always loved children and I love learning.   

What is your favorite food? 

Ice cream.  Chocolate ice cream. 

What do you like to do when you are not at Krug? 

My favorite thing to do when I am not at Krug is to spend time with my four grandsons.  I also like to read. 

What is your favorite book? 

My all-time favorite book is Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.  Every year for my birthday, I ask for the wild things to be on my birthday cake.
