Material Magic: Why Do We Wear Clothes?
Unit: Material Properties & Engineering (Lesson 1 of 4)

Our students kicked off their Material Magic unit by exploring the big question: Why do we wear clothes? Through hands-on investigations, they explored different material properties such as texture, absorbency, and flexibility to discover how materials help protect us and meet our needs.

During the Mad Hatter Engineering Challenge, students used their new knowledge to design and build their own hats that could protect them from the sun. They tested materials, planned their designs, and created inventive solutions thinking just like real scientists and engineers!

Magia de Materiales: ¿Por Qué Usamos Ropa?
Unidad: Propiedades de los Materiales e Ingeniería (Lección 1 de 4)

Nuestros pequeños científicos comenzaron la unidad Magia de Materiales explorando la pregunta: “¿Por qué usamos ropa?” Los estudiantes investigaron diferentes propiedades de los materiales como la textura, la flexibilidad y la absorbencia para entender cómo los objetos que usamos todos los días están diseñados para protegernos y ayudarnos.

En el reto práctico “El Sombrerero Loco”, los estudiantes usaron lo que aprendieron para diseñar y construir sus propios sombreros para protegerse del sol. Probaron materiales, compartieron ideas y crearon soluciones ingeniosas, ¡pensando como verdaderos científicos e ingenieros!
