On Saturday, November 11th, at Huntley High School, the Illinois Music Education Association held their annual District 9 music festival. Students had to audition, and Simmons’ student, Nathan Stade was accepted to perform with the junior high band. This district-wide honors-level band is comprised of students from Kane County and the surrounding counties The band was conducted by Major Bryan Miller who is the Leyden High School Director of Bands, and the commander and conductor of the 566th Air Force Band.
