FRMA families,

Here are some important announcements for the upcoming week::

East Aurora Dads Group
The EA Dads group is always welcoming to fathers who would like to participate in their meetings about the critical role of being a father and how they can strengthen families. Their first meeting this school year will be on Wednesday, September 10th from 8:30-10:00 a.m. at the Resilience Education Center (REC) located at 417 Fifth St., Aurora, IL 60505. Bilingual Parent Advisory Council (BPAC)
There will be a meeting on Thursday, September 18th from 8:30 a.m-10:00 a.m. at the Belle Salle Banquets on 1920 E. New York St. Aurora, IL. 60502. All Youth Leadership Project
LCFS is partnering with the district once again to offer the All Youth Leadership Project. This is a daily program offered Monday through Thursday after school at the district’s Resilience Education Center and provides a variety of activities to grow students’ leadership skills. This program starts on Tuesday, September 8- October 30 from 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Transportation is provided. Space is limited, and families must fill out an application that is available though the QR code on the attached flyer. Please see the attached flyer for more information. EAHS Pomcats in Training Middle School Dance Camp
6-8th grade students are invited to dance with the EAHS Dance Team at a football game on September 12, 2025 with a practice being held on September 8-11 from 4:00 p.m-5:30 p.m. $50 includes a t-shirt and poms. Message from the Counselor
September is National Suicide Prevention Month, with World Suicide Prevention Day taking place on September 10th. This month is dedicated to recognizing the warning signs for suicide, encouraging open conversations about mental health, and connecting people to proven treatment and resources. For more information and resources, please visit the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Website.

Mr. Thompson will be visiting 8th grade science on Friday, September 12th to provide our monthly classroom guidance lesson. This month’s topic is “Claim Your Future: Aspiration” which is part of the Illinois PaCE (Postsecondary and Career Expectations) Framework.

Waubonsee Community College will have a First Responders & Healthcare Career Fair on Saturday, September 20 from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. with a panel discussion at 11:00 a.m. at the 18 S. NIU STEAM STEM Fest 2025 will be on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The NIU STEM Fest is a celebration of all things science, technology, engineering and math. This free event is held each year in the fall on the campus of Northern Illinois University and features more than 100 exhibits, speakers, and demonstrations designed to inspire and engage guests of all ages with opportunities for STEM learning. It is one of the largest free family events in Northern Illinois.

Proyecto de Liderazgo Juvenil
LCFS se asocia nuevamente con el distrito para ofrecer el Proyecto de Liderazgo Juvenil. Este programa se ofrece diariamente de lunes a jueves después de clases en el Resilience Education Center del distrito y ofrece diversas actividades para desarrollar las habilidades de liderazgo de los estudiantes. El programa comienza del Martes, 8 de Septiembre hasta el 30 de Octubre, de 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Se proporciona transporte. El cupo es limitado y las familias deben completar una solicitud disponible a través del código QR en el folleto adjunto. Por favor, consulte el folleto adjunto para obtener más información. Campamento de Baile de Secundaria “Pomcats” de EAHS en entrenamiento
Los estudiantes de 6.º a 8.º grado están invitados a bailar con el equipo de baile de EAHS en un partido de fútbol americano el 12 de Septiembre de 2025. Los ensayos se llevarán a cabo del 8 al 11 de Septiembre, de 4:00 p.m. a 5:30 p.m. El costo de $50 incluye una camiseta y pompones. ¡Utilicen este enlace para inscribirse y obtener más información! Mensaje del consejero
Septiembre es el Mes Nacional de Prevención del Suicidio, y el 10 de Septiembre se celebra el Día Mundial de Prevención del Suicidio. Este mes está dedicado a reconocer las señales de alerta del suicidio, fomentar conversaciones abiertas sobre la salud mental y poner en contacto a las personas con tratamientos y recursos de eficacia comprobados. Para obtener más información y recursos, visite la página web de la Administración de Servicios de Abuso de Sustancias y Salud Mental.

El Sr. Thompson visitará la clase de ciencias de 8.º grado el viernes, 12 de Septiembre para impartir nuestra lección mensual de orientación en el salón de clases. El tema de este mes es “Reclama tu futuro: aspiración”, que forma parte del marco PaCE (Expectativas postsecundarias y profesionales) de Illinois.

Waubonsee Community College llevará a cabo una feria de empleo para personal de primera respuesta y atención médica el Sábado, 20 de Septiembre, de 9:00 a 12:00, que tendrá un panel de discusión a las 11:00 en el campus de Aurora, ubicado en 18 S. El Festival STEM de STEAM NIU 2025 se llevará a cabo el Sábado, 20 de Septiembre de 2025, de 10:00 a.m. a 3:00 p. m. El Festival STEM de NIU es una celebración de todo lo relacionado con la ciencia, la tecnología, la ingeniería y las matemáticas. Este evento gratuito se celebra cada año en otoño en el campus de Northern Illinois University cuenta con más de 100 exposiciones, presentaciones y demostraciones diseñadas para inspirar y atraer a visitantes de todas las edades con oportunidades para el aprendizaje STEM. Es uno de los eventos familiares gratuitos más grandes del norte de Illinois
