Peace Jam Goes to MichiganPeace Jam Goes to Michigan

This weekend, Cowherd 8th graders had the opportunity to interact and work with Nobel Peace Prize winner Leymah Gbowee from Liberia for the whole weekend.  Cayenne Dallmann was picked by the Peace Jam teacher to have a special lunch with Mbowee because of her hard work and dedication throughout the year in Cowherd Peace Jam.
 
6th and 7th graders went up on Saturday and got to spend the day with Gbowee.  The Cowherd students presented about their out of dress code days and were excited to announce to Gbowee that in the 4 years of doing the service project, we have raised $18,258 for various charities.
 

Gbowee was thrilled and said, “Aurora is good people. I will never forget about your hard work and kindness for others.”  “I am so very proud of them, the staff , and administration for all the help  and support to make this service project such a success,” said Mr. Harding, Cowherd Peace Jam Adviser
