SIMMONS 8TH GRADE BAND PERFORMS AT THE FOX VALLEY MALL!SIMMONS 8TH GRADE BAND PERFORMS AT THE FOX VALLEY MALL!

On Thursday, December 16th @ 10:30 a.m. the C. F. Simmons Middle School 8th Grade Band performed at the Fox Valley Mall to an audience of band families, mall staff, and many other community members.  Earlier this school year, The Fox Valley Mall sent an invitation to the band requesting a performance, and the 8th Grade Band was pleased to accept.   

 

The Band performed the following songs in order:

Frosty the Snow Man by Steve Nelson and Jack Nelson, arranged by Michael Sweeney

Sassafras Tea (Cajun Two-Step) by Michael Oare

Christmas is Mexico Based on Traditional Mexican Carols arranged by Michael Story

Santa’s Angry Elves by Rob Grice

Spanish Rose by Joseph Compello

Songs of Christmas Cheer! arranged by James Swearingen

 

Mr. Stade, band director, received many compliments on behalf of the band for their performance from band parents, community members, and mall staff.  Many of the members commented on how much they enjoyed the acoustics of the mall while performing.  The band members had a great time performing and having lunch in the food court.  It was time well spent!  

 

The band would like to thank the Fox Valley Mall for the opportunity to perform and for being such great hosts.  The band would also like to thank Simmons Middle School and East Aurora Administration and office staff for their support in making this endeavor possible.  Finally,  the band would like to thank our parents and chaperones.  We couldn’t do what we do without you!
