Update for Tuesday, March 24thUpdate for Tuesday, March 24th

Below is the email I shared via Edgenuity:

Hello my lovely students,

Hope you are all doing well, and practicing “shelter in place” and “social distancing” as much as possible. I am doing that here in California with my mom. Other than quick trips to grocery stores for necessities I am staying inside – and yes, it is VERY BORING. I am keeping busy by checking your Edgenuity status and unlocking quizzes for you and updating my teacher webpage, along with reading Children of Vice and Virtue and watching a lot of Netflix and Amazon Prime!

I will check Edgenuity every two days. I go down the list of students and click on your progress to see how you’re doing. When you get to a quiz, the program will request approval from me and I need to go in and unlock it. If you do not want to wait until I check, you can always send me an email at fmanzella@d131.org and request that I go in and open it for you. I’m happy to do that. It’s just a little time consuming to have to go through every student, especially when only a few out of 100 actually need a quiz. I check my email a few times a day.

Some of you have more classes than others to work on in Edgenuity, and I get that you might be trying to complete one before starting another. I think that is how my mind would work, too. That is fine. Just be sure that you are working a little bit every day to stay on top of your game!

One student emailed me to ask if you had to complete the section in “Junior English B” on Gatsby and Fitzgerald since we had already covered that in class. Unfortunately, teachers did not create this program specifically for our quarantine, so there may be some overlap on what we’ve already covered. Think of it as a review and know that you already have the background to be successful. Ultimately, the answer is yes, you still have to do it.

As always, I am here (far away, but here) for you if you have any questions or concerns.

Miss your faces and the laughs you bring me,
Mrs. Manzella
